This notice covers information used by SPS Groundworks when you browse this website or contact us about work.
Information and why we use it
If you call, email or message us, we receive the details you share, such as your name, contact details, project address, photographs, requested work and timing. We use these to respond, discuss and quote for work, arrange visits and manage agreed work. For an enquiry about a contract with you, this is to take steps at your request before that contract or to perform it.
We also have a legitimate interest in handling general enquiries, keeping useful business correspondence and protecting the website. Relevant records may be needed to meet legal obligations, including accounting requirements, or to deal with a dispute. Please only send information needed for your enquiry and avoid including other people's personal details unnecessarily.
The website has no contact form or customer account. It does not add analytics or advertising trackers. Its hosting service receives technical information needed to deliver and secure pages, such as IP address, request time and browser information.
Maps, email and WhatsApp
Google Maps is optional and loads on the Contact page only after you allow it. Google then receives information including your IP address and browser details, and may use cookies. Our basis for enabling this optional content is your consent. You can withdraw this through Cookie settings in the footer.
Email and WhatsApp buttons open your chosen email app or WhatsApp with a suggested message. Opening a draft does not send an enquiry to us; you choose whether to send it. Those services also handle information under their own privacy terms. See Google's privacy policy and WhatsApp's privacy policy.
Who may receive information
Information is handled through the services used to host the website, deliver email and messages, and administer work. Relevant information may also be shared with professional advisers or authorities where needed for a legal obligation or a claim. We do not sell enquiry details.
Providers such as Google, Microsoft and WhatsApp operate internationally. Their notices explain their processing locations and safeguards. Contact us if you need details about a provider involved in your enquiry or the applicable transfer arrangements.
How long information is kept
Retention depends on whether an enquiry remains active, whether work follows, any ongoing warranty or dispute, and applicable record-keeping obligations. We keep information only for as long as needed for those purposes, then delete it or remove identifying details. Ask us about the retention applicable to your particular enquiry.
Your choices and rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access, correct or erase your personal information, restrict its use, object to processing based on legitimate interests, or receive a portable copy. You can withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. Some rights have exceptions. Contact Stuart using the details above; we normally respond within one month, subject to the extensions allowed by law.
You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). You do not have to contact us first, although we welcome the opportunity to resolve concerns.
We do not use this website to make automated decisions about you. We will update this notice if the website or our handling of enquiries changes.
